When I started my consulting business back in 2009, my first priority was to reach as many people in my target audience as possible. I had a clear marketing plan laid out with a goal to create awareness and gain exposure in the shortest time possible.
I created a blog because I knew I needed a marketing platform to easily display my expertise and the products and services I offered. I was fairly new online so I needed to establish my brand, online presence and blog so I could attract quality leads.
I learned the hard way…
You see, before I started my first profitable business blog, I had been blogging for about 2 years. I had 2 other blogs, one for the direct sales business I was in at the time, and a niche blog targeting work at home moms. Neither of them generated any substantial leads, sales or subscribers…
Only because I had NO CLUE what I was doing.
So, what did I do?
I quit…
Then began to research and learn all I could about blogging and building a business online. I realized in order to attract quality leads, I had to blog on topics that my ideal audience would really be interested in.
AND, be consistent.
I started blogging 3 times per week, faithfully. I shared my experiences as a home based business owner and online marketer. I shared useful information, resources and tools I found that were working for me.
What I discovered is that combining those tools, I created an online marketing system that was bringing me targeted traffic, new leads and SALES!
The system I had in place allowed me to work less hours because my marketing was on autopilot, working for me around the clock. Having a system in place for your business will free up much of your time so you can focus on work at home success.
3 Things You MUST Do To Attract Quality Leads For Your Business
What are the 3 things any serious entrepreneur or small business owner must do to attract quality leads online and build a business?
#1 – A Blog
Listen, there is no better way for you to quickly build your brand, establish yourself online and attract quality leads. Especially if you have a limited marketing budget, or NO budget at all. I got started with $20 bucks…I bought my domain name and hosting, and GOT TO WORK!
If you are new to online marketing and want to build your business on the internet, this is the simplest way to get started making money online (simple…not easy, you’ve got to put in the time and effort to make it work. You can learn how.)
#2 – A List
Along with your blog, you need an email list service so you can begin gathering leads and creating trust while developing relationships with your potential customers. When I first got started, I didn’t understand the value of a list…so, I didn’t start one right away…a big mistake you should definitely avoid.
It doesn’t matter if you are brand spanking new…CREATE YOUR LIST. This is how you will grow your customer base. If you are doing business online, you won’t be for long without customers.
#3 – An Autoresponder
After you attract quality leads into your business pipeline, you need to have an autoresponder setup and filled with a series of pre-written messages. It may sound a bit complicated but it’s really not. You see, the purpose is to automate your email marketing so you can generate sales while you are living life, doing things you love!
Your blog, email list and autoresponder all make up your marketing system…a MUST HAVE if your intentions are to build a profitable business online. Even if you are brand new to blogging or internet marketing, you can learn how to attract quality leads online with the right resources and information if you have the time to invest.
You can develop your skills and implement the methods to build a blog (similar to this one), use a system and apply simple marketing strategies to grow a profitable business online.
If you want to make more money in your business using the internet without spending more time and money, having a system to automate your efforts and attract quality leads, is an effective way to accomplish your goals.
