How to Master Your Craft and Own Your Market

master your craftWhy do we often see so many women struggle with making their business successful? Why is it so difficult for some women to make money doing what they love? Over the past couple of years, I have noticed an imbalance between the number of women who are making entrepreneurship work, compared to those who aren’t.

It is a sad thing to see because a lot of women just don’t get it. It seems to me most of the women online today, have a particular way of thinking, I mindset that consists of them having to do it all and will only thrive in “hustle” mode.

I would never knock anyone’s drive but there is a key element that is missing with a lot of the women who are not reaping the kind of reward they deserve.

The biggest challenge I see with women is that they have this almost obsession with creating multiple businesses thinking that is what will finally give them the financial freedom they are seeking. When in fact, they haven’t even structured the foundation for ONE business…let alone another.

In all actuality, these women entrepreneurs have great vision and ideas but don’t realize they have the ability to design ONE business that can pull multiple streams of income, allowing room for concentrated focus.

We all have unique gifts and talents…

But what good are any of those if we never stay focused on one long enough to really allow it to fully manifest in our favor? Now, don’t get me wrong…I’m not saying limit ALL your abilities to just one. What I’m suggesting is that if you want to be EXCEPTIONAL at your highest level, you have to have FOCUS.

Identify your passion and skills

What are some of the things you absolutely LOVE to do? What do you know without a doubt, you could do with your eyes closed? In what area do people seek you for advice or guidance? If you can answer these questions, you can begin to recognize what your primary strengths are.

If you are NOT seeing growth in your business, it could very well be you have not yet begun to tap into your gifts, and personal strengths. You have to discover what it is for you and master it so you can use that gift and skill set to excel in your business.

Master Your Craft & You WILL Own Your Market

You have to get to the place when you are in your element…in your ZONE. When you have identified what that is for you, the next thing you must do is MASTER IT.

You DO NOT want to be a “Jack of all trades.” The saying goes, “a jack of all trades is master of none.” Don’t give into this way of thinking. It’s wonderful to have many skills but as a woman in business, it is not effective or beneficial to not be operating at a level of excellence in any.

Why are your business sales and growth at a stand still?

Because you have not yet mastered the ability to identify your craft. When you release the fear of following your passion with your whole heart instead of settling for what appears to be comfortable and secure, you unleash your inner power.

Your inner power is what allows you to be entirely authentic so you become free to use your strengths so they work in your favor. When you are consistently performing at your highest level of natural ability, it makes it easier for you to master your craft.

As you master your craft, you become excellent at what you do and will know how to attract the right audience to you because they will recognize in your expertise, you have the skills to serve their needs.

That is how you own your market. When you can carve out that space for yourself, you will experience increase in every area of your business.

Main takeaway:

  • Have focus
  • Operate from your passion
  • Identify your strengths
  • Master your craft
  • Own your market

Mastering and shifting to an entrepreneurial mindset is a heavy topic but one that should be addressed early on for a woman who wants to transition to a life of financial independence. Many women entrepreneurs, including myself, are or have wrestled with this issue over the course of their journey. It is absolutely one that you can overcome.

  1. Each member of the human species — which also includes our clients — has been gifted with unique gifts and talents. When these unique characteristics interact with each other, they draw us to some people and repel us from other people. As a result, even if you were to offer a solution to the world that works for everyone, you’d still have people say no, simply because they are not drawn to you. This isn’t a problem to be overcome, but rather something to remember when dealing with potential clients — not everyone is an ideal client for you. Part of “owning your market” is figuring out who your ideal clients are and putting your focus on serving them.

Thank You Tamyka! This came at a perfect time in my life as I embark on new venture in my life. We all need the reminder, to be unique and focus one one talent and not to have our hands in many jars, especially when we only have two hands.
