Have you noticed how more and more women are starting home based businesses?
Even in my own network circle, I’ve seen a shift in the number of moms who have decided to go full-time, working from home in 2014 alone.
To be honest, I love it!
It made me want to do a little research just to see for myself, how much the industry is growing.
Here is what I discovered…
- According to the Direct Selling Association, in 2013, the direct selling sales force increased 5.7% to 16.8 million in 2013, a record high. Get this, even during the height of the recession, the home based industry experienced a surge of new direct selling independent representatives.
If you are an aspiring mom entrepreneur, I’m sure you will relate to this post.
Most entrepreneurs run into challenges when starting a business, but moms have a completely different set of challenges the average entrepreneur may not experience.
It doesn’t matter if you are married or single…adding entrepreneurship to the mix of motherhood is downright overwhelming for many moms.
This is something I know firsthand being a work at home mom of seven – six still at home.
- If you have infants or toddlers, there is no such thing as, “sticking to a schedule.” They demand your time around the clock. The trick is figuring out how to occupy their time so you can fit tasks in, in between.
You’ve heard it before, Network Marketing, Direct Sales, MLM, Opportunity…Scam, Pyramid Scheme. Just a few common names used to define a home based business opportunity by individuals and skeptics alike.
There happens to be a great misconception surrounding the Network Marketing industry. Primarily due to lack of understanding, or even pure ignorance. However, despite what you may have heard, Network Marketing is in fact, a legitimate home based business model.
The MLM Scam…
Now, don’t get me wrong, there are some companies out there passing themselves off as reputable which gives the other solid companies, a bad reputation. The easiest way to recognize a true pyramid scheme is not based on the triangular structure, but if there is an actual product or service being sold.
Are you an aspiring woman or mom entrepreneur?
Are you a successful woman in business?
If so, we would love to hear your story. The Life Freedom Lifestyle Blog is launching a weekly Women in Business series featuring amazing business owners just like you!
Many of us are inspired by hearing the journey of other women in our industry. We appreciate being able to relate to those striving to achieve similar goals and aspirations.
Here, we represent women and mom entrepreneurs using online marketing to start or grow, a thriving home based business.
With a diverse readership of business owners with various levels of experience and expertise, the common bond we all have is the commitment to connect and share, while making an impact in the lives of others.
Are you a woman entrepreneur who is fairly new to the world of online marketing?
Are you a woman in business currently struggling with your marketing online?
Are you a woman independent business owner confused about how to effectively brand yourself and build your business online?
Perhaps you are just tired of doing all you know how to do, or following the instruction of others and simply not seeing results. Your busy – full-time job, working at home, kids and household to maintain, or maybe even pursuing higher education. All while trying to run a business so you can finally, work at home.
As a mentor to women and mom entrepreneurs, I often receive messages with questions such as; How can I start a business online? How do I get more customers? And the big one, How can I start a business if I don’t have any money?
These are all the same types of questions I had when I first started out online and to find my answers, I did what I naturally like to do…research! That’s how I was able to learn all about marketing and business building. YES, with a very, very small budget. (I started with just under $20 bucks)
For many women and mom entrepreneurs, summer months mean the kids are home on break…and for some, the business takes one too. With 5 of my own kids running wild and bouncing off the walls these days, I can understand why many of us choose to slow down, cutback, or close up shop altogether, to spend time with our little people and enjoy time off.
As tempting as it may sound…the worst thing you could do is kill your momentum just because it’s summer. This is actually the best time to step your game up because so many other home based business owners will be sleeping in or lounging out pool side…BUT…
No matter what the reason is for wanting to work from home, there are a few important things you should determine before you ditch the day job. Naturally, the first thing you want to consider is whether or not working from home is even the right decision for you.
The idea alone makes so many of us feel all warm and fuzzy inside as we envision the idea of plopping down in front of the computer at noon time, still in our pajamas and checking email as the fruit of our effortless labor pours on in. If you ask me, or any of my work from home peers, you will find this is FAR FROM our reality.
