A Simple Online Blog Strategy to Grow Your Business
1. Have a goal for your blog
Why do you want to start a blog? What is the purpose of your blog? Is it to sell your own products or services? Are you selling affiliate or products from your network marketing company? Do want to share your passion, and inspire others?
The point is, whatever your reason for starting a blog, you need a goal. Whether it is financial, or otherwise.
This will give you a foundation to build upon because you will know what you are working toward.
2. Know your audience
Do you know who it is you are writing for? When you know your target audience, you are able to give them the type of information they are looking for.
Take time to figure out who these people are. If you are selling a particular product, decide who you want to be your customers.
The more you know about them (their wants, needs, desires, struggles, fears, etc.) you will be able to create content that will speak directly to them.
What can you teach them? In what ways can you educate them? How can you provide value?
When you can answer these questions, you can produce content for you blog that will give them the information they need to make a decision to buy your product or service.
3. Build your mailing list
I’m sure you’ve heard a gazillion times, that the fortune is in the list. Let me be clear, your greatest business asset, is your list.
Part of blogging for business, is growing your email list. It’s how you build relationships with your audience that increase your marketing and sales conversions.
This is an effective way to generate leads, and grow your customer base.
Email allows you to to connect, engage, communicate, educate and market to your subscribers.
4. Promote your blog…regularly
Your online blog strategy will be incomplete without content marketing. You have to be consistent with getting your posts in front of your target audience.
You could use free methods like…
- Sharing on social media
- Emailing new posts to your list
- Blog syndication groups
Paid advertising, Facebook boosted posts and paid ads, also can work to drive traffic to your blog if your budget allows.
The key is, be consistent with creating content for your audience, and marketing your content so it gets seen.
