small business growthAre you familiar with that “feeling”? You know the one, the somewhat restless, unshakable stirring in your spirit. That feeling that makes you almost question what it is you are doing and if in fact, it is what you are supposed to be doing?

Have you ever felt stuck in place? When everything you are doing to create change in your life and in the lives of those you desire to help seems to have come to a stand still?

When you decide to give in to that “feeling” and allow yourself to just BE…you are able realign and recognize, it is time for transition. In these sometimes undesirable and uncomfortable times, growing pains if you will, are very necessary for us to experience a shift that requires us to grow.

Many times we stay stuck not realizing that it is because we are afraid to grow.

Growth of course, means change. Whether that is in life or business, in order to move to the next level, we have to stop doing what we have become used to and reach a little further to move forward.

Change is not easy…but oh so necessary.

This past weekend, I celebrated my birthday. Each year during this time, I commit to doing something different and outside of my comfort zone. Something that moves me closer to being a better and more fulfilled ME.

So what did I do? I started a 90 day health challenge to shed some unwanted weight I’ve gained over the last couple of years. (so far…12 pounds lighter!)

I also decided to shift my business practice just a bit to be more closely aligned with my passion for empowering women. I’m teaming up with women who want to start a home based business, get free mentoring and work with me side by side.

As entrepreneurs, we have to learn to trust our intuition and always be ready to evolve. (Tweet This)

While on this entrepreneurial journey, the biggest hindrance we all face is lack of growth. When we refuse to grow, we prevent our own success because we fear change.

If there is one thing you get from this post today, I hope that it is this: DO NOT be afraid to do what YOU BELIEVE you are supposed to do in your business. You will always be able to do what you love, just at a deeper level and higher capacity….

If you trust that transition is necessary in order to grow.

What is it that you know you are supposed to be doing RIGHT NOW in your business but have been resisting change? Share with me how I can support you in the comments below:

The wonderful world of ‘change’. I still wonder why we fear change. It is human nature as we grow that we change – hopefullly for the better – and learn from our past. Just visualize, the woman you are today is not the baby, girl, or teenager that you want. Embrace the change.

It certainly is human nature. Visualizing what WILL be is very helpful for me and allows me to embrace change more easily. Thanks for sharing Tina!

I’m experiencing that feeling right now. I have a strong desire to be more and to do more. Change starts and ends with me. Nothing changes without first having the desire to change. Great article Tamyka!!!

That is absolutely right, we most definitely have to first, have a desire to change. Thanks for sharing Tameka!

Too many find change to be a negative, when in fact it is the most positive thing that can happen in our lives. I love your insight Tamyka and urging to not be afraid but instead embrace the change. One thing for sure, if you don’t take steps you never will know what is in front of you!

Looking forward to sharing this with others. Oh, and thank you Tamyka for sharing this link so I can also check out the ClickToTweet feature! I like it 🙂

I know I should be focused more on keeping my website updated and building my client base, but I work full time and am a divorced mother of a soon-to-be nine year old boy…I’m very involved in my church, too and finding/making time is so very difficult. I currently have one client, but my ultimate goal is to have my business be home-based, full time.

I know it can be a huge challenge trying to find a balance between parenting, work and business. The best thing I can suggest to you, Robin, is to sit down with a calendar and schedule each area of your life – family, personal, church, work, business. Create a habit to pencil in your schedule and where there is time left…commit to working your business.

It really doesn’t matter which days our hours, what matters is what you do what the time you allocate to your business. Focusing on income producing activities should be top priority!

      Thanks for sharing!
