Entrepreneurs Don’t Complain They Make Changes

Entrepreneurs Don't ComplainThis post is…well, a personal rant. YES, I’m about to get under your skin. But so what, I don’t care. If I don’t tell you like it is, who will? To be quit frank, I’m sick and tired of hearing all these excuses.

“I don’t have time to market my business.”

“I don’t have enough money to start my business.”

“I can’t afford to hire you right now.”

“I don’t know what to do.”

Blah, Blah, Blah…

Honestly, I know I’m going to lose some of my readers and I’m probably going to get a few unsubscribes…but SO WHAT. I’m tired of the whiners and complainers. You think I don’t know how hard it is to start a business online? You think I don’t know it takes DETERMINATION? You think I don’t know it requires discipline and commitment?

Guess what? That’s why everyone isn’t an entrepreneur or a business owner. It’s NOT easy.

But, here is the deal…life ain’t easy.

I could have quit a long time ago. I didn’t know what I was doing in the beginning. I didn’t have money. I didn’t have a lot of time. I could go on…

You know what I did have? A STRONG desire to be home with my kids. A yearning to be a FULL TIME mother to them. Can I get personal for a minute? I never had my mother growing up. She didn’t raise me. She flat out wasn’t there. That experience triggered something within me when I became a mother myself.

I never wanted my kids to feel the way I felt growing up without my mother. That my friends is PURPOSE. You see, when you have a deep rooted purpose, that you know is from within your soul…NOTHING is going to stop you. Do you hear me? NO-THING.

You know what else?

My family didn’t support me or believe in me either. SO WHAT?

I wasn’t making enough to pay my bills either. SO WHAT?

I didn’t have money to pay for “stuff” in my business either. SO WHAT?

I didn’t know what to do either. SO WHAT?

I had kids too (probably MORE than you). SO WHAT?

AND, a ton of other issues and drama constantly going on in my life. SO WHAT?

The point is…every entrepreneur you will ever meet has a story. Every successful one went through hardships. None of them were born with the ability to BE an entrepreneur. They tried and failed and tried again until they found their success.

What they have is purpose. That purpose creates an unbreakable focus. Do we get sidetracked at times, of course…we’re human. But it doesn’t keep us down. It can’t because the purpose is bigger than US.

If you are struggling to start or grow your business, maybe you don’t truly know yourself yet. Maybe your still unsure about what you really want out of life. Stop and ponder that for a minute…seriously.

Now, let me ask you this…

What are you doing to change your situation?

Have you stopped getting your hair done so you can save up for a coach or mentor?

Instead of going out to eat on the regular, are you cooking at home so you can enroll in a training program?

Are you watching TV every night instead of reading a book to help you develop personally?

I mean really…what are you doing? Do you realize that you will MAKE time, and a way, for the things that are important to you?

The number one question I get all the time is…“How do you find time to balance family and business?”

You want the quick answer? I MAKE THE TIME.

WHY? Because I don’t EVER want to go back to a regular job.

Listen here, I’ve got SEVEN kids…my best friend is named, GOOGLE CALENDAR (okay, it’s really Natalie but you get the point.)

I schedule EVERYTHING with my family time being top priority. From there, I schedule my work around them. I make sacrifices. Don’t want to miss your favorite show? DVR that bad boy. Watch it another time. Write your blog post. You’re girls invited you out, take a rain check. Get on that training call instead.

Do what you’ve got to do to get out of that 9-5 if that’s what you really want. The short term sacrifices out-weigh the long term gain.

NOW…let me be clear here and tell you why I decided to post this rant for all to see:

I’m not a people pleaser. Never have been. I speak my mind and yes, sometimes I hurt peoples feelings with my brutal honesty. I’m just tired of seeing people do NOTHING with their ideas and dreams because they are scared to take a risk.

When I said, I’m going to lose some readers and subscribers…well, that’s okay with me because they aren’t cut out for this. I’m here to serve a specific group of people. I’m seriously done with those who only want freebies and handouts. I’m a giving person by nature, and yes…I’ve been known to give products and consults away for free – but, I’m also intuitive and I know who’s seriously gonna do something with what I give and those who wouldn’t. (So if I blessed you with a freebie, know it’s because I SEE something in you!)

Here’s to clear up any confusion moving forward:

If you are ready to get to work and want to build and grow your business online by:

  • Creating a strong social presence, influence and brand
  • Growing a loyal and engaged audience based business
  • Using blogging, social networking and email marketing

I can help you with that. Why should you work with me? Find out here.

If you are studying me on the low (it’s all good!), like my style of business, not quit sure about me yet, or just want to see what I’m up to, I’ve got something for you also.

You can stay updated with new posts and content when you subscribe to my email list (you’ll even get a free ebook to discover the core principles for home business success). Connect with me on my Facebook page where I share my insight, inspiration, tips and resources to help you grow and develop as an entrepreneur.

Understand this. I don’t do what I do for recognition or for the money. I do what I do because I’ve been where you are and I want to help you get to where you want to be. I also know that some people aren’t ready for change…and that’s okay. (If that’s you, you’ll get there eventually, you still have some “things” to go through before you recognize enough is enough.)

I know my position, I know my value and my focus. So, I’m here to work with, and support YOU, if you know without a doubt, you’ve got to do something different, you’ve got to do it now, and you are ready.

I’ll finish my little kick-in-the-pants spiel with this..

Life is too short. Know who you are, know what you want and don’t let anything stop you from going after it.

Are you a brave soul? Have you been making excuses for why you CAN’T do something to start or grow your business? Tell me about it in the comments…I’ll do 2 things, offer you a suggestion AND hold you accountable!

  1. Love it! Hey Tamyka, it’s funny you wrote about this because I recently posted on Facebook that when someone really wants to work with you, they will find a way to pay you, because they recognize the value that you bring to the marketplace. I made the mistake of trying to run a “business” on free when I first started out. Quite frankly, I didn’t know any better. But I set aside money for coaching programs and books to better myself and my mindset. Fast forward to today, I realize the value that I bring and people that work with me know the same. I’m glad you took a stand for what you believe in.

    1. Hey Kate, thanks! You know, I think many of us make that mistake early on…I did too. But, like you said…they will find a way to pay you. I set money aside and worked EXTRA hard for a $500 training program I knew would help me move my business to another level. Hey, we all live and learn but I’d rather learn quicker from someone who’s “been there, done that!”.

  2. Oh my goodness, I could not stop laughing — and agreeing — with this post. I am sure this post made some people squirm. But you hit it right on the head. Great job!

    1. LOL, thanks Regina! I don’t mean to hurt feelings but truth is truth and I want people to understand, having the right MINDSET can literally, change your entire life, your business practices and finances!
