If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything. ~ Alexander Hamilton
What does it mean to respect your mind exactly?
Well, forgive me as I go on a little rant, as I explain…
You are an entrepreneur, yes?
Entrepreneur is defined as: a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.
How you interrupt this is up to you, but for me…it clearly means that an entrepreneur is someone who…1) operates one or more businesses, and 2) in doing so, risks making a lot of money, or no money at all.
This to me, implies an entrepreneur invests in one or more business ventures with the goal of making a profit, and risking the chance of that not happening at all.
Okay, so…now that is cleared up, I want to ask you the question…
“As an entrepreneur, do you respect your mind?”
So often, people go into business with high hopes, but are lead by fear and uncertainty. They embrace false realities, and believe when you build your business online, all your financial struggles will somehow disappear almost instantaneously.
They listen to every ‘guru, expert, leader and coach’ out there, hoping to just learn their secret to success. They jump from list to list, group to group, program to program, opportunity to opportunity…yet get the same results…nothing.
Let me tell you something…
The best investment you could ever make, is in you!
You can learn all the skills, and marketing strategies in the world, but it’s absolutely useless if you don’t have the right mindset (from personal development), to apply what you learn, with laser focus and tenacity.
How can you consider yourself an entrepreneur when you allow the opinions, and “advice” from others, to outweigh your own, or negatively influence your choices?
My favorite quote by Steve Jobs says it all…
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. ~ Steve Jobs
Everything you need to be successful, to create the lifestyle you desire, to live the way you want to, already resides on the inside of you. However, it takes work to tap into, and embrace your gifts.
Respect your ideas.
Respect your beliefs.
Respect your mind.
No one will ever understand your vision the way you see it. Your entrepreneurial journey will not look like anyone else’s, because it’s yours. Develop yourself personally, and trust your instincts, so you can stand behind your decisions.
When you are clear about your purpose, desires and goals…then you may want to consider seeking expertise from others.
