Fear

Fear is debilitating. If you allow it to, fear can literally prevent you from doing the things you actually want to do. Sometimes we don’t recognize our fears. They often come disguised as legitimate ‘reasons’ why we aren’t able to complete a certain task.

Truth be told, everyone has a fear of something. It may be of failing or even having success. It could be a fear of what others may think or say about you. For a lot of people, fearing the unknown will stop them before they begin.

How can you overcome fear?

The easiest way is to simply…take action. Yes, you are going to still feel the fear. Yes, you are still going to feel uneasy. Yes, you are still going to feel uncertain. However, action trumps fear every time. There is power in DO-ing. When you set your mind on the possibilities, your attitude changes. You begin to see what CAN be instead of what cannot.

You’ve got to learn to look fear in the face. Be bold and take courageous action to overcome fears.

    Tamyka, really enjoyed your post. I’m sure you’ve heard of the acronym, F.E.A.R. – False Evidence Appearing Real! So often fear is fed by our imagination or concerns about “what if…” But at the same time it can be really defeating as well. But one thing I was telling someone is that you shouldn’t confuse fear with genuine concern. You can have concern about a situation without fear. But anyway, again, great post, thanks so much!

      Thanks Dana! I completely agree, many times fear does come from our fear of the unknown…the “what if…” as you mentioned. When we are able to distinguish between fear, or a genuine concern, it becomes easier to move forward.
