Blogging for Business - Tamyka WashingtonThere is no mystery behind the reason why so many small businesses have chosen to build a blog for their business. It is proven that having a business blog is a highly effective way to build your presence online, establish your brand and if developed properly, allow you to earn a generous stream of income.

However, it is much easier said than done, wouldn’t you agree?

We all know that it is possible to build an online business and make money with a blog because there are many entrepreneurs doing so each and every day. Even so, you may be one of the thousands upon thousands who are ready to get started but don’t know how to begin or make it happen for your blog.

So the question is…”What do I do?”

Before you start a blog for your business, you need to have an overall goal and a purpose. And no, money cannot be the winning factor here. Blogging for business is different than blogging for fun. You have to think long term and you have to consider the projected growth of your business.

Really understanding your purpose and mission along with how you will present your message to the world with an impact, is a key component to the success of your blog. The foundation you create in the beginning is what will ultimately, mold and shape your credibility. Building and branding (or re-branding) a blog for your business with a solid and structured plan, will position you more easily, as an industry leader.

 Serve a targeted market

The way to establish influence is to deliver your expertise to ONLY those who recognize and value your ability to make a meaningful impact. In other words, you must use your business blog to serve a specific market.

You establish a credible brand by being consistent in the way you develop your blog platform and in how you inform, educate and share your expertise and build relationships. It doesn’t matter if you are a small business owner, service based professional, network marketer or direct sales business owner, your business blog is an exclusive marketing tool that provides an effective platform for you to design a profitable business online.

Have a Plan, Design a Process and Execute Delivery

Just like every other area of your business, a plan, process and delivery method are important to how you will attract your ideal clients and generate regular traffic. Without an actionable plan in place and a clear strategy to execute, you are setting yourself up for failure.

Tamyka, thank you for co founding WAHMs WIN with me to help empower mom entrepreneurs to connect more intentionally and to grow in their personal lives and in their businesses.
Also, thanks for heading out our mentorship referral program with your Approved Partner Program.
I’m excited to see the expansion of your calling to empower women in these very powerful ways with your Business Blogger Bootcamp and with your 90 Day Inner Circle Mentor Club via WAHMs WIN joint membership with TheCEOMamma Network starting in March.
Mostly I’m excited for the members of both of our networks who are receiving priceless benefits and networking connections to help them keep moving forward in life and in business.
You’re doing a great job, and I’m blessed to know you. Thank you for serving in a bigger way so that we can all learn from God’s gift in you, Tamyka.

Love it Tamyka! Your points are right on! Especially about serving a niche, I think that’s something people become confused about how to narrow to the profitable point. Also having a plan and executing that plan is so important.. great tips!

The exercise that you have outlined needs to be kept in mind each time we sit down to write a post. See the big picture and how our 300-500 words add value and help achieve the goal of the blog.

Incidentally, I was lucky to receive the Blogger Boot Camp which you graciously gave as a gift in the Sky Rocket Giveaway earlier this year. Loved it and still love reading your posts. Have a great day, Tamyka!
