Why that is a mistake is because, you are never going to know everything. Plus, what works for some, does not work for all. The best way to assure success is to just get started. We all learn as we go. When something we try doesn’t work, we fix it or do something else.

You have kept your options open, and have decided to explore the idea of a home based business. I can remember being in this exact same space, and making my decision to say YES, to creating a new life for myself and my family.

Even in my own network circle, I’ve seen a shift in the number of moms who have decided to go full-time, working from home in 2014 alone.
To be honest, I love it!
It made me want to do a little research just to see for myself, how much the industry is growing.

- According to the Direct Selling Association, in 2013, the direct selling sales force increased 5.7% to 16.8 million in 2013, a record high. Get this, even during the height of the recession, the home based industry experienced a surge of new direct selling independent representatives.

Most entrepreneurs run into challenges when starting a business, but moms have a completely different set of challenges the average entrepreneur may not experience.
It doesn’t matter if you are married or single…adding entrepreneurship to the mix of motherhood is downright overwhelming for many moms.
This is something I know firsthand being a work at home mom of seven – six still at home.
- If you have infants or toddlers, there is no such thing as, “sticking to a schedule.” They demand your time around the clock. The trick is figuring out how to occupy their time so you can fit tasks in, in between.
Some people start a home based network marketing business and choose the slow and steady path. Yet others dive in and go hard and fast…which is better?
Well, in my opinion it’s a matter of preference.
I’ve been on both sides of the fence and can say, in my experience, slow and steady will win the race…eventually. But the question is, why wait?
Most people I talk to who are ready to start in network marketing want to start making money quickly. However, the majority of them start pretty slow.
Why is that?
Perhaps they lack the confidence to go full force.
Maybe they aren’t ready because they haven’t been trained.
Many individuals looking to start a home based business often choose a Network Marketing company because it offers average people, an affordable way to go into business without requiring any experience or formal educational, unlike a traditional business.
There are many companies that offer independent representatives or distributors, the opportunity to earn commissions on products and services they sell. These direct sales companies such as; Mary Kay, TLC or Melaleuca, offer women a way to be able to earn a part time or full time income, from home in their spare time.
You’ve heard it before, Network Marketing, Direct Sales, MLM, Opportunity…Scam, Pyramid Scheme. Just a few common names used to define a home based business opportunity by individuals and skeptics alike.
There happens to be a great misconception surrounding the Network Marketing industry. Primarily due to lack of understanding, or even pure ignorance. However, despite what you may have heard, Network Marketing is in fact, a legitimate home based business model.
The MLM Scam…
Now, don’t get me wrong, there are some companies out there passing themselves off as reputable which gives the other solid companies, a bad reputation. The easiest way to recognize a true pyramid scheme is not based on the triangular structure, but if there is an actual product or service being sold.
What’s the one question a work at home mom wants to know from me?
“How do you manage being a work at home mom with seven kids?”
The answer is really simple…I just do it! Of course, that is not what people really want to hear…they want to know exactly what it is I do.
I have a BIG reason why I do what I do. It is the main reason I made the decision to truly pursue entrepreneurship back in June 2002.
That fact is, I’m a REAL mom and my reason WHY is my 7 children! I can’t see myself being anything other than a full-time mom to them.
Building a business online or offline requires a decent amount of effective networking…would you agree?
Networking is about connecting with new people and reconnecting with others, on a regular basis. When done right, it is a great way to leverage the connections you make and helps you grow your business.
I’m sure we each have our own ways and methods for meeting new people and eventually sharing our business, but are some ways more effective than others?
